Fifaliana is a project introduced in 2020 and materialized in 2021. It was created by the French association Scolarisation Madagascar, on the initiative of Maxime Blanc, the coordinator, and Raymond Arbona, the President of Scolarisation Madagascar. The school’s building was entirely financed thanks to a fundraising campaign carried out by Scolarisation Madagascar among its members and partners.
The construction site began at the end of April 2021 and the school opened its doors on 13 September 2021. For the start of the school year, Fifaliana welcomed 152 children in its school located in Talata Andraikiba, a town located 8 km west of the city of Antsirabe. A team of 12 professionals works there full time.
Fifaliana is a project that will continue to develop over the years to increase its capacity and further diversify its activities. It aims to bring well-being and education to its beneficiaries and to help the neighbourhood in which it is located to develop.
Fifaliana wishes to be a place of life and learning. A small sanctuary where children can forget about their tough daily life to get their innocence back and develop freely, thanks to a qualified, devoted, and attentive educational team.
Fifaliana's primary mission is to welcome 156 pupils in its school, in 6 classes from nursery to fifth grade. In a country where more than a million children do not go to school and where the learning conditions in public schools are deplorable, Fifaliana aims to offer all its students free of charge optimal learning conditions and long-term support.
Unfortunately, Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world and is therefore heavily struck by malnutrition and undernutrition. Going to school on an empty stomach is purposeless. That is why Fifaliana also offers its pupils and employees a free daily meal in its canteen..
Adding to these main objectives, Fifaliana aims to provide its beneficiaries with everything necessary for their well-being and fulfillment. Including assistance with access to healthcare services, entertainment and culture, a wide range of activities is set up from time to time to help children, their families and the entire neighbourhood. Finally, since care for children with disabilities is basically nonexistent in Madagascar, all Fifaliana's activities are inclusive.
